Ehrmanns Wines launches Rewild range, planting a tree for every bottle

Ehrmanns Wines pledges focus on sustainability and rewilding with new range, promising to plant a tree for every bottle purchased.

Ehrmanns Wines launches rewild range

The wine brand has collaborated with Ecologi, an organisation which facilitates funding for carbon offsetting projects and tree planting around the world. Tree saplings will be planted in several global reforestation projects.

The brand aims to offer consumers practical steps towards sustainability, under the ethos: ‘tiny individual action drive collective change’.

Commenting on the launch, Keith Lay, head of marketing at Ehrmanns, said: “Sustainability is a growing concern for our business. We have worked with Ecologi to offset carbon emissions of all employees at Ehrmanns, and we were inspired to create this range by their philosophy that small actions are much better than none.

“We accept that the wine business, including our own has a long way to go to reach a carbon neutral position. This is a little step in the right direction, and we are planning for others to follow.”

Linda Adams, Head of Partnerships at Ecologi said: “We are so excited to be working with Ehrmanns on Rewild, we especially love Rewild’s ethos that ‘tiny actions drive collective change’. We believe that with a little input from a lot of people, we have the power to secure our future and it’s amazing to see companies like Ehrmanns join us on our mission of tackling climate change.”

Rewild’s launch coincides with the COP26 summit taking place in Glasgow. The Rewild range will initially include two wines, focusing on a Chilean Sauvignon Blanc and Argentine Malbec. The massive consumer appeal of these varietals benefits the objective to plant as many trees as possible.

Online searches for ‘Glasgow culture’ and ‘Glasgow food’ skyrocketed in the run up to the COP26 climate summit, analysis of Google search data has revealed. Read more on COP26 here.
