Bordeaux leads trade in early 2021

Bordeaux wines are leading trade by volume and value on Liv-ex in the early part of the year, though Italian wines are prominent in the volume side of trade too.

As reported by Liv-ex, the results extend France’s 15 year-long streak of leading trade in the early part of a new year but last year’s decisive swing towards regions such as Italy was reflected in the three Italian wines that are taking up a good deal of volume trade so far in 2021 – including Sassicaia.

Petrus and the first growths of Lafite, Mouton Rothschild, Haut-Brion and Margaux are leading the pack when it comes to trade by value and while Beychevelle is the leading label….
