HK Shangri-La Hotels to host ‘A Festival of Wine’

From 24 to 28 November 2020, luxury hotel group Shangri-La Hotels will host the inaugural “A Festival of Wine by Shangri-La”, comprising 11 events and the chance to taste over 200 fine wines.

Led by Yohann Jousselin MS, who is also the hotel group’s assistant vice president of the Regional Wine Programme, the promotion will span all three sister properties, namely the Island Shangri-La, Kowloon Shangri-La and Kerry Hotel Hong Kong. Throughout the five day event, the hotel invites guests to immerse themselves in a range of events, ranging from wine dinners & luncheons, a wine fair and tasting and an outdoor sparkling sundowner.

The festival will kick off with the Sixth Anniversary Iconic Wine Dinner at Restaurant Petrus on 24 November 2020. The wine dinner will include a curated menu designed by chef Uwe Opocensky and an extensive selection of rare vintages, including 1959 Château La Mission Haut-Brion, 1955 Château d’Yquem, Madeira, Pereira d’Oliviera, Boal, 1908.

The extravagant dinner is priced at HKD34,888 per person, with just 10 seats available.

On 25 November, wine fair open to the public will be held at Island Shangri-La. The tasting event will feature over 100 wines from acclaimed wineries and regions. On the other side of the Victoria Harbour, Tapas Bar at Kowloon Shangri-La will host another wine tasting event on 26 November, serving up to 30 wines from France, Italy, the US, and Australia.

To wrap-up, on 28 November 2020 there will be a free pour tasting event at the Kerry Hotel Hong Kong featuring over 20 Old and New World wines.
