Wineries and chefs rally together in wildfire relief efforts
Wineries and chefs throughout the Golden State have been rallying together to raise funds for victims of the recent devastating California wildfires.

According to California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, the Glass fire is expected to be fully contained by Tuesday 20 October.
The fire has caused mass destruction, ravaging over 1,500 structures, including wineries and restaurants, with many more damaged by the fire.
As reported by Wine Spectator, one of the first to step up and help out was chef José Andrés and his team at World Central Kitchen, who began offering fresh meals to evacuees and first responders within 24 hours of the Glass fire breaking out.
Drinks giant Constellation brands will be donating over US$100,000 towards initiatives to bring relief to wildfire victims in the Golden State, with funds set to go to the American Red Cross, the Napa Valley Community Foundation and the Sonoma County Resilience Fund.
The firm, which escaped damage from the fires, will be providing a two-to-one match for all donations made by its employees throughout October.
As reported by Wine Spectator, The Wonderful Company, owner of Justin and Landmark Vineyards, will be donating US$500,000 to non-profit organisations in Sonoma and San Luis Obispo that offer local communities and frontline workers relief from the wildfires.
The Napa Valley-based Benchmark Wine Group donated 10% of sales from its Wildfire Benefit to the Napa Valley Community Disaster Relief Fund, while Smith Devereaux Wines is donating 100% of profits from the sales of its 2018 white blend to the California Fire Foundation.
According to Wine Spectator, Bar Lucia in Napa will be donating proceeds from sales of Schramsberg at the bar in October to the Napa Valley Community Foundation.
Chef Christopher Kostow, of the Restaurant at Meadowood, which perished in the Glass fire, will be hosting a charity dinner on 21 October to raise funds for those who have been displaced or lost their homes in the fires.
The socially distanced barbecue, organised by the Meadowood owners, the Harlan family, will be taking place at Charter Oak restaurant in St. Helena, with first responders and fire fighters invited to attend free of charge.
