Japan’s first non-alcoholic bar opens in Tokyo

Japan’s first non-alcoholic and vegan bar, 0% Non-Alcohol Experience, has opened its doors in Roppongi, Tokyo this week, presenting a different drinking experience to the city.

The zero-alcohol trend is sweeping across the world. Tokyo’s Roppongi district, the dazzling business and nightlife hub of the city, is now welcoming a brand new non-alcoholic and vegan concept.

Inspired by the outer space, 0% Non-Alcohol Experience has a minimalist and stylish interior, with some of the space reserved for exhibiting artworks.

Visitors can expect an usual bar menu that is carefully curated with non-alcoholic cocktails crafted by Shingo Gokan, an award-winning Japanese bartender who is the owner of three bars on the list of the World’s Best 50 Bars.

Special creations include “A Real Pleasure”, a concoction of vetiver water, fruit and basil; “Death by Cheesecake”, a mix of Champagne vinegar, berries and dairy; and “Monochrome”, cold brew coffee with brown sugar and fresh cream. Meanwhile, the Nepalade, a zesty, fruity drink is served with an ASMR sound experience.

As well as cocktails, the bar also serves kombucha, non-alcoholic wine and house-made brews such as cola and lemonade. There is also the option of adding CBD oil to the drinks.

Echoing the drinks is a selection of vegan bar snacks and desserts, such as vegan quesadillas and CBD chocolate brownies.

Address: Tokyo-to, Minato-ku, Roppongi 5-2-4 ANB Tokyo Building, 1st floor
