Rooney, who currently plays for Derby County, is having the room constructed on the lower-ground floor of his new house, which is still being built, according to The Mirror.

The former Manchester United player and his wife Coleen bought a farm in Cheshire, which came with 120 acres of land, in 2017 for £4.3 million.

According to media reports, the house, which has its own full-size football pitch and driving range as well as snooker room and cinema, will be worth around £20 million when completed.

The Rooneys have been known to splash the cash on wine. In 2013, Wayne Rooney was lampooned for enjoying birthday cake washed down with a bottle of Petrus.

Rooney also appeared alongside fellow players Ryan Giggs and Patrice Evra in a TV commercial promoting Chilean wine brand Casillero del Diablo. Owned by Concha y Toro, Casillero del Diablo was, and remains, the official wine sponsor of Manchester United.
