Hedonism launches ‘wine school’
London wine merchant Hedonism has launched a series of educational tastings, which will explore more of the “unusual and lesser known grape varieties” of the world.
The tastings will begin this month and continue into the summer, looking at various topics and with tickets costing £15.
Each will be led by a member of Hedonism’s in-house team and there will be a focus on less well known regions and grape varieties as well as looking at Hedonism’s range of wines under £30.
The first tasting on 23 March will cover the wines of Sardinia and Sicily, followed by a wine and cheese masterclass pitting England versus France on 7 April.
Other topics will cover sub-£30 fizz, Cabernet Sauvignon beyond Napa and Bordeaux, US wines, Italian white wines, Old World wines and Southern Hemisphere “treats”.
Founder, Tatiana Fokina, said: “A key motivation for introducing this series was to continue to educate our customers old and new on the rare gems at Hedonism. We are committed to capturing the audience whose interest in wine has them moving away from the supermarket offering but might need guidance on where to move within the next bracket.”
