Wine Lister adds Jasper Morris’s Burgundy expertise

Fine wine analyst Wine Lister has announced the inclusion of Jasper Morris MW as an associate critic and its first regional specialist.

A leading authority on Burgundy, Morris’s reviews and scores of Burgundian wines will now be used by Wine Lister as part of its analysis – and it is a timely addition given the spate of Burgundy tastings taking place this week to launch the 2018 vintage.

A co-founder of Fields, Morris & Verdin, Morris became Burgundy buying director at Berry Bros & Rudd in the 1990s and ‘retired’ in 2017 to live in Burgundy full time and continue writing about the wines. He is also the consultant for Christie’s at the Hospices de Beaune auction.

Ella Lister, founder of Wine Lister, said: “Not many people know as much about Burgundy as Jasper, and we are delighted to be able to integrate this rare knowledge into the Wine Lister rating system by bringing him on board as our first regional partner critic.”

Morris added it was a “thrill” to partner with wine Lister. “I am delighted to make the expertise of www.insideburgundy.com available to enhance further the wealth of information that makes Wine Lister such an invaluable tool for lovers of fine wine around the world.”

Morris is the sixth partner critic whose scores and views are used in Wine Lister’s algorithms. The others are Jancis Robinson MW, Antonio Galloni, Betane+Dessauve, Jeannie Cho Lee and Neal Martin.
