Freixenet Copestick launches ‘I heart gin’

Freixenet Copestick is expanding its best-selling I heart wine range into spirits for the first time with the launch of two gins.

 

The move into spirits is starting with a 40% abv classic juniper gin alongside a 37.5% abv pink gin which is flavoured with strawberry, juniper and herbs (RRP: £16/ 17).

I Heart brand manager Dani McDonald said the company was thrilled to be entering a new category with a product that had “real stand out”., adding that the extension of the brand into a new category demonstrated the flexibility and stretch of the i heart brand.

“Most consumers have little knowledge about wine and simply want to find the wine they like as quickly as possible and for great value. Wine can be intimidating, overwhelming and unnecessarily complicated.

“The spirits category has now become as complex and crowded as wine once was, we therefore believe this is the perfect moment to introduce I Heart Spirits. For all those consumers that simply want a straight talking, delicious, no nonsense gin and tonic we are the perfect solution. Accessible, attractive and affordable,” she said.

The I heart spirit range will launch in Nisa in early December and has also won a listing at Sainsbury’ which will feature the brand in a ‘discovery bay’, including I Heart Gin Spritz cocktails.

According to IRI,  i heart wine range is now the tenth largest wine brand in the UK (IRI MAT to 8 September 2019).
