Castelnau official Champagne of Tour de France 2019 organisers

Champagne Castelnau has announced its partnership with Amaury Sport Organisation, organisers of the Tour de France and other cycling events.

The annual men’s cycling tournament will begin in Brussels on Saturday (6 July), making its way to the Champagne region for the first time in five years. The peloton will arrive in Epernay on Monday 8th July, departing Reims on Tuesday 9th July.

In its capacity as official Champagne of Amaury Sport Organisation, organisers of the Tour de France and other cycling events, Castelnau has released a special edition design sleeve – ‘Champagne Castelnau Brut Réserve NV Cuvée Siècle Jaune.’ It was produced to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the famous Yellow Jersey, which highlights the winners of the tournament.

In addition, Champagne Castelnau will be served at the end of each stage of the Tour de France. The race traverses several wine regions in eastern France, including Alsace, before making its way through Provence and the Languedoc.

Belinda Stone, head of marketing at Castelnau Wine Agencies, said: “This year’s Tour de France offers an exciting opportunity for Champagne Castelnau as the greatest cycling race in the world comes to the Champagne region.

“We will be hosting a series of events in celebration. Our partnership with such a high profile international sporting event fits with our dedication to push boundaries and reach a new audience on a global scale.”

The race’s inaugural edition was 1903 – it has been held annually since that year, except for the period during the Two World Wars.
