Ex-cellar Burgundies to be auctioned for charitable cause

Auctioneer Christie’s will present “exceptional wines” from several collections in London later this month including ex-cellar Burgundies from several prestigious estates which are being sold for a charitable cause.

Taking place on 20 March, Domaine Roulot, Domaine Frederic Mugnier, Domaine de Lambrays and Domaine de la Romanée-Conti have all contributed bottles to the sale in support of Maison Jacques Copeau, a theatrical institute in Beaune.

Highlights from across the sale in general include six magnums of 1996 Chambertin from Armand Rousseau (£20,000-£30,000); six bottles of 1979 Krug (£3,500-£4,800); 12 bottles of 1988 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée-Conti (£200,000-£250,000) and a Jeroboam of 2010 Meursault ‘Les Perrières’ from Domaine Roulot (£3,000-£4,000).
