Eight places where you can spend the night in a wine barrel

In the village of Sasbachwalden in Baden, Germany, guests can choose from one of eight, 8,000-litre barrels to schlafen im weinfass (German for sleep in a wine barrel).

Named after grape varieties, options include the Rieslingplatz, Schwarzrieslingplatz and Ruländerplatz. Each barrel enjoys stunning views over the Rhine Valley.
