Vivino Market makes debut in Hong Kong

Vivino Market, launched by wine review app Vivino to enable users to browse, select and purchase wines, has been launched in Hong Kong, and is already boasting more than 300,000 users and over 7,000 wines on the platform.

Vivino Market uses data from Vivino’s community of 31 million members to recommend highly rated wines that “match the personal taste and price preferences of each Vivino user based on their historical rating and scan behaviour,” according to the wine app company.

The company says it sources wines on the app in Hong kong via a network of partner merchants in the city, and bottles can be purchased instantly through a two-click checkout process.

The app is currently in English, but the company is looking to add Chinese in the future.

Vivino Market says it already has more than 300,000 users in Hong Kong and over 7,000 unique wines are available for purchase.

Heini Zachariassen, founder of Vivino, commented that the wine selection from the app is, “as reliable as trying the wine” oneself.

“We use historical preference data from ratings and reviews to provide recommendations wine drinkers can feel confident about without even needing to taste test before purchase. We are confident that purchasing through Vivino Market is as reliable as trying the wine yourself,”says Zachariassen.

Founded in 2010, Vivino has become the world’s most downloaded wine app. The introduction of Vivino Market signifies the company’s ambition to become the biggest and best online wine marketplace.
