Vinexpo announces upgraded venue and new features for 2019

Vinexpo Bordeaux has unveiled a host of new features for its 20th edition next year, which is taking place in May.

Shifted to the earlier time of 13-16 May, the show is expected to draw 40,000 visitors from 150 countries and some 2,000 exhibitors.

Furthermore, visitors at Vinexpo will be able to use the Vinexpo Citypass which gives free access to Bordeaux’s tam and bus network as well as free entrance to the Cité du Vin and some other museums.

Special information stands will also be set up at Mérignac Airport and Saint-Jean railway station.

“Vinexpo is continuing to expand internationally and Vinexpo Bordeaux is the Group’s cornerstone. This is our flagship and it will receive even more resources for 2019”, confirmed Patrick Seguin, president of Vinexpo’s executive board and chairman of the Bordeaux-Gironde Chamber of Commerce.

“To do this, we wanted to develop an unprecedented synergy with our local partners. By pooling our strengths and solutions, we will be contributing to our customers’ success through several new initiatives and innovations which we’re launching.”

Among the other expanded content for the show is the ‘Symposium Vinexpo’ which will look at the challenges facing the global wine industry such as climate change and scientific, technical and economic developments.

‘Les Diners du Palais’ will allow exhibitors to invite guests to dine at the Palais de la Bourse with their own wines and meals prepared by top chefs.

Meanwhile, ‘La Grande Dégustation’ will present a wide array of the global wine and spirits at the show to the public at La Bourse the evening before the show begins.

Christophe Navarre, president of the Vinexpo Supervisory Board, said: “Vinexpo Bordeaux is packed with exciting attractions that we will be promoting intensively abroad. Increasing the number of buyer contacts and the event’s commercial role, offering insights into today’s key challenges and shining the light on French hospitality will confirm Vinexpo Bordeaux as the industry’s strategic trade show, where the future of the business is built. To deliver this strategy, we have decided to add several new features.”
