NZ Winegrowers celebrate ‘most successful’ International Sauvignon Blanc Day

Trade body New Zealand Winegrowers is celebrating the “most successful” International Sauvignon Blanc Day today, following its largest ever social media campaign.

Ahead of today, the online digital campaign sent out by New Zealand Winegrowers had already reached over 50 million impressions using the hashtags #nzwine and #sauvblanc.

Chris Yorke, global marketing director at New Zealand Winegrowers, said: “This is on track to be the biggest social media campaign NZ Wine has ever been involved in and it is fitting that it is around Sauvignon Blanc day – New Zealand’s most exported wine varietal”.

Festivities to mark the event are planned across countries including Australia, Asia, Canada, the UK and USA.

The trade body is hosting a sky high dining experience in the New Zealand Penthouse, including a Sauvignon Blanc supper club and a wine masterclass.

Elsewhere, they are supporting trade promotions in over 50 outlets with a prize to win a trip to the International Sauvignon Blanc Celebrations in January 2019 up for grabs.

Around the world, there are promotions and in-store tastings with David Jones in Sydney and Melbourne, consumer tastings in Hong Kong and San Francisco, a blogger lunch in New York, promotions in over 300 stores in Ontario and British Columbia and celebrations throughout New Zealand.
