‘Europe’s longest Champagne bar’ is opening its own fizz school in London

Searcy’s Champagne bar in London’s St Pancras station will have its own fizz-focused school when it re-opens later this year.

The venue, which is also the home to the “longest Champagne bar in Europe”, will open its Champagne School in April 2018, as it toasts the 150 year anniversary of St Pancras Station, according to the Caterer.

Guests will be able to learn about both Champagne and English sparkling wines at ticketed events throughout the year, as well as in private parties or events accompanied by a meal.

Matt Thomas, Searcys’ managing director, said: “I am really proud of our team at St Pancras Brasserie and Champagne Bar who have delivered a fresh and contemporary British menu that sits perfectly within the new design of the restaurant. The launch of the Champagne School will allow us to share our wealth of knowledge on Champagne and British sparkling wines in more depth, internally as a company, as well as to the consumer. This is the first of many changes that we hope will mark a new era for Searcys.”

The string of workshops will begin once Searcy’s re-opens after a major refurbishment by Softroom, which will introduce new soft spaces for seating as well as a new-look dining area.

Searcy’s drinks ambassador Joel Claustre will lead the Champagne School’s masterclasses, which offer an insight into the wine bar chain’s selection of sparklers.

Ticketed masterclasses will cost £45, while exclusive masterclasses, with food pairing, will be available for groups of six or more at £65 per person.

Champagne pre-dinner experiences are also available for groups of eight or more for £25.
