This Wetherspoons is offering a wedding reception package for £3,000

This year, all eyes will be on Kensington Palace as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to tie the knot at the royal household on 19 May.

And while weddings are usually considered a time to splash out, not everyone has the budget.

Luckily, pub chain Wetherspoons has come to the rescue as one of its branches has gained a marriage license, meaning you can spoil up to 100 family and friends with dinner and wine for just £3,000.

The deal includes exclusive use of the Knight’s Templar in London’s Holborn area, as well as a three-course sit-down meal or buffet for 100 guests, with an after-dinner party capacity for 300 people until 1am Saturday or midnight on Sundays.

The venue will provide table decor, a wedding host, a live DJ, a complimentary glass of Champagne for the wedding toast, and Coldwater Creek wine for the table.

Of course, this isn’t the pub group’s first venture into shoestring romance. Earlier this year, Wetherspoons announced it was offering couples the chance to enjoy a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner together for the princely sum of £20.

Couples could get their hands on a main course, dessert and one drink each from the infamous Wetherspoons menu, which included classics such as the pub’s signature 8oz steak, mixed grill or BBQ chicken melt.
