BIVB releases tasting notes for London’s Bourgogne Week

The Bourgogne Wine Board (BIVB) is releasing tasting notes each day for this week’s London Bourgogne Week, picking out the best wines to try.

Available online and also on the wine board’s social media accounts, the tasting notes, posted under the pseudonym ‘Bourgogne Holmes’, give a list of highlights from the day’s tastings.

Those wines to make it onto the list so far are Domaine Daniel Barraud Mâcon Chaintré ‘Pierres Polies’ 2016, showcased at the Lea and Sandeman tasting, which is described as “fresh and cool on the nose, fine and elegant on the palate with juicy pear and quince flavour” and Auxey-Duresses, 2016, Domaine Taupenot-Merme, on pour at the Flint Wines tasting, described as “medium-bodied and juicy, not too weighty, well balanced with firm acidity with the characteristic refreshing mineral streak of the appellation”.
