English wine estate Albury Vineyard rebrands

Albury Vineyard in Surrey has unveiled a new logo and website this week with the Duke of Northumberland’s crest now incorporated into its branding.

The present-day Albury Vineyard was planted in 2009, although there is evidence of vines growing in the area as far back as the 17th century. The Albury Estate, on which the vineyard sits, has been under the ownership of the Duke of Northumberland since 1890.

Since 2009, Albury’s still rosé has been served on the Royal Barge during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012, and its wines have picked up awards, including a Gold at the recent Drinks Business Organic Masters for its sparkling rosé.

Vineyard owner Nick Wenman explained that it was time to refresh the brand.

“We decided to develop a new brand identity that would truly reflect our values as a family run vineyard producing local, top quality wines, and offering unique visitor experiences”.

“We are delighted with the new logo and website that Detail Design Consultants have created for us and feel that it now encompasses the true essence of ‘Albury’, producing ‘Fine Wines in the Surrey Hills’.”

“They have brought out the fine details that represent what is special about us, from the Duke of Northumberland crest that appears in our new logo mark, to the leaves from the vines that make up the crown. These small touches echo the care and attention we put into each and every bottle.”

The new logo and branding will appear on its bottle labels which are due to be released shortly.

The new website has been developed to provide a more “user-friendly shopping experience” for those looking to buy wines and book events held by the winery. It has also been made more compatible with mobile devices to make it easier for users to navigate around the site.

Lucy Letley, marketing manager at Albury Vineyard added: “People shop online using their mobile phones and tablets now far more frequently than they use desktop computers, so it’s very important for websites to be responsive to these devices. Our new website now offers a user-friendly shopping experience and we are thrilled with how it looks”.

Albury Vineyard produces still and sparkling organic wines from 21,000 vines planted across 12 acres of land on the North Downs. The vineyard employs both organic and biodynamic practices.
