Duddell’s opens first international outpost in London

Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant Duddell’s in Hong Kong has opened its first international outpost in London.

Located in St. Thomas Church near London Bridge, the restaurant serves up Cantonese cuisine, whose signature dishes include ‘Dim Sum Symphony’ and Peking Duck feast.

The restaurant will be overseen by Daren Liew. Prior to joining Duddell’s London team as head chef, Liew worked with Hakkasan Group as its executive sous chef and Duddell’s Hong Kong. The chef has more than 20 years experience in Cantonese cuisine.

The restaurant features a standalone bar and a semi-private dining space on the mezzanine level, making the total dining capacity 100 seats.

The space was designed by Michaelis Boyd, who also designed Soho Farmhouse and Soho House Berlin. Applying modern elements to the historic building, he has worked to recreate the retro feel of a 1960s Hong Kong “tea restaurant”.

Duddell’s Hong Kong is located in Central. It currently has one Michelin star, and has been a Michelin-starred restaurant since 2013.

The Duddell’s brand is part of the JIA Group, founded by restaurateur Yenn Wong. The group currently owns and operates 11 restaurants in Hong Kong.
