International Bulk Wine Competition winners named
The winners of this year’s International Bulk Wine Competition (IBWC) have been announced with six ‘grand gold’ medals awarded, including to a Czech company.
Taking place on 19 November, the day before the opening of this year’s World Bulk Wine Exhibition at Amsterdam RAI, the jury of 23 professionals evaluated 150 references and eventually awarded six grand gold, 12 gold and 27 silver medals.
The competition, the only one of its type, seeks to support and promote the transparency and quality of world bulk wines.
The six top medals were awarded to: New Zealand Wineries and MGP Cooperative (both from New Zealand), Paladin Giovanni and Cantine Solferino from Italy, Casas de Fernando Alonso from Spain and E-Vino from the Czech Republic.
Among the winners of gold medals were companies from France, Uruguay, Chile and Georgia, while wines from the major European countries, Argentina and South Africa picked up silver medals as well.
