Clever wine gadget lets you drink in the shower

A new bathroom gadget made by SipCaddy is the ‘first’ of its kind designed to hold a glass of wine.

There are few finer things in life than a relaxing shower or a good glass of wine, but the two rarely mix well.

The SipCaddy is the first cup-holder of its kind designed to hold stemware.

But the days of washing without whetting one’s whistle could soon be over. A new tool has hit the drinksware market that is designed to hold anything from Champagne flutes to coffee mugs.

American startup SipCaddy has invented a cup-holder that can hold wine glasses, beer cans, bottles and cups, complete with its own suction component, making it the ideal accessory for any bathroom. The SipCaddy, which was designed using 3D printing technology, can stand up to seven pounds of pressure when applied to a smooth surface like glass, mirror, or bathroom tiles.

The gadget has a specially designed holster that can hold stemware, making it the first cup-holder of its kind designed to comfortably hold a wine glass, according to the manufacturers. As well as this, Champagne flutes, cans from 6oz to 24oz, bottles, slim coffee mugs, solo cups and regular cups all fit comfortably.

While the device was originally designed to hold drinks, SipCaddy’s social media feeds show that the holders are far more than vehicles for alcohol, and can be used to hold snacks or even decorations.

However, despite its durability, glass gets slippery when wet, and broken glass is far from ideal in a shower cubicle. SipCaddy does not recommend using glass vessels, “as accidents can sometimes happen,” according to the company’s website.

The SipCaddy is currently on sale on Amazon from £15.99.
