InterContinental HK wins China’s Wine List of the Year Awards

Yan Toh Heen, the two Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant at the InterContinental Hong Kong, has won ‘Best Wine List of the Year – Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan’, the top prize at China’s Wine List of the Year Awards 2017.

The restaurant was also the recipient of the ‘Best Wine List in Hong Kong’ and the winner of the ‘Best Listing of Chinese Rice Wines’, the five-star hotel has announced.

Andy Au, InterContinental Hong Kong’s chief sommelier, also brought home China’s ‘Outstanding Sommelier’ award in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

InterContinental Hong Kong’s other celebrated restaurants, the newly opened Rech by Alain Ducasse, and The Steakhouse wine bar + grill also received top honours with the ‘three glass’ (outstanding) rating, while NOBU InterContinental Hong Kong received the ‘two glass’ (excellent) award.

The results were announced late last month after a panel of judges including Master Sommeliers, Masters of Wine, wine commentators and sommeliers reviewed a range of restaurants, hotels, cafes, brasseries and bistros, pubs, wine bars and clubs, plus airlines and cruise ships across the Greater China region.

Established in 1994, the Wine List of the Year Awards were introduced to recognise and reward the enormous investment in time, skill and resources that go into developing the best quality wine lists in any specific country.
