Latour-focused members’ club appoints Ramsay somm

Ten Trinity Square Private Club, a London members’ club launching soon in partnership with Château Latour, has appointed former Restaurant Gordon Ramsay head sommelier Jan Konetzki as its wine director.

Ten Trinity Square Private Club, a unique partnership between Reignwood, Four Seasons Hotels and Pauillac first growth Château Latour, is due to open in Q2 2017

In addition to overseeing the special wine programme (including a unique selection of wines from the Pauillac first growth) for the club, Konetzki will be creating exclusive wine lists for the restaurants at Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square.

Due to open in Q2 2017, Ten Trinity Square Private Club will feature a dedicated Château Latour Discovery Room – the first time the wine estate has lent its name away from the Latour vineyard in Pauillac.

Members of the club will have access to some of the most sought-after vintages of Latour, which will be complemented by food from celebrated chef Anne-Sophie Pic, who runs the kitchen at La Dame de Pic restaurant within the Four Seasons Hotel. Konetzki will also serve as a Château Latour and Artemis Domaines Ambassador.

Originally from Lüneburg, northern Germany, Konetzki spent the early part of his career as a waiter at Hotel Louis C Jacob in Hamburg before recognising his passion for wine and training as a commis sommelier.

In 2007, he moved to London where he joined Maze Grill as head sommelier and gained extensive experience in the preliminary stages of the restaurant’s opening.

Jan Konetzki will have responsibility for devising the wine programmes at both the Ten Trinity Square Private Club and the Four Seasons Hotel London

Konetzki’s skill was soon recognised and he was appointed assistant head sommelier at three-Michelin star Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, progressing to head sommelier within one year of service.

The sommelier’s distinguished selection of wines for Gordon Ramsay has been frequently recognised by critics as one of the best in London, and over the course of his career he has achieved a number of accolades including winner of the Moët UK Sommelier of the Year.

As a central part of his role as wine director for Ten Trinity Square Private Club, Konetzki will create bespoke wine programmes for the club itself and for the Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square, both of which are set to be announced soon.

“I am delighted to be joining the team at Ten Trinity Square Private Club,” Konetzki commented.

“There are very few opportunities like this in the wine world and it is an honour to work alongside Château Latour and to be part of such an exciting project from the beginning. I look forward to sharing my passion and knowledge of fine wines and educating our members and guests.”

A unique partnership between Reignwood, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and Château Latour, the private club is designed to “serve as a forum for members from around the globe to meet and share ideas; building powerful partnerships and cultural links”, a statement said.
