Christie’s announces 50th anniversary sale

Christie’s is to hold two more fine wine sales in London this winter, one later this month and one in early December, which marks the 50^th anniversary of the auctioneer’s wine sales.

The November wine auction will be held on the 10^th at the house’s King Street salesroom and features an array of fine Burgundy from the likes of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Domaine Leflaive and Marc Colin.

Highlights include a case of 1993 DRC La Tâche (£12,000 – £16,000) and Lelflaive’s Montrachet from the 2003-2012 vintages.

A reconditioned case of 1961 Hermitage La Chapelle (£75,000 – £90,000) will also be offered alongside four magnums of 1971 Dom Pérignon Rosé (£3,200 – £4,000).

The December sale meanwhile, which takes place on the 8^th of that month, also marks Christie’s 50^th anniversary of wine sales.

There are a number of particularly fine and rare clarets in the line-up including 1947 Cheval Blanc, 1945 Mouton Rothschild, 1961 Lafite and 1982 Latour.
