Jackson appoints négociants for Cardinale and Vérité

Jackson Family Wines has appointed five of Bordeaux’s top négociants to handle the international distribution for its Californian wineries Cardinale and Vérité.

In an email sent to the drinks business earlier today, the company said that it was making the move now because it wanted to “enrich” its global distribution in time for the 2013 vintage release of its “jewels” – Cardinale and Vérité.

Before today’s announcement, Jackson Family Wines was partnering with local importers along with Bordeaux négociant Mahler-Besse, using a hybrid model for the distribution of Vérité.

Although Mahler-Besse will continue to distribute Sonoma-based Vérité, the brand, along with Napa’s Cardinale, will be represented by Ballande & Meneret, CVBG, Duclot, Joanne and Mestrezat Grands Crus.

The agreement secures exclusive global distribution through the négociants, outside of the US and Canada, for both wineries – starting with the 2013 vintage.

Jackson Family Wines chairman and proprietor, Barbara Banke, said, “I am delighted to partner with these internationally-renowned négociants and feel confident that Cardinale and Vérité are in the very best hands to expand and enrich our global distribution. I am excited about this new export strategy for two of the jewels of our portfolio and expect these to become very long-term relationships for the company.”

The official release of 2013 vintage for both wineries will be on 7 November.
