DFS Group unveils second venue in Changi Airport

Combining fine wine, whisky and cigars, the DFS Group’s newest retail store in Changi Airport will also host a seven-week long whisky festival from now until September.

In celebration of the store’s new opening in Changi’s Terminal 2, every Friday and Saturday evenings from 29 July until 10 September, DFS will host a whisky festival showcasing different whisky brands with guest appearances from their brand ambassadors as well as master classes and food pairing sessions.

Travellers can also taste three complimentary whiskey cocktails representing Scotland, the US and Japan which will be available at the Whiskey House at DFS’ Terminal 2 duplex and The Long Bar by Raffles at DFS’ Terminal 3 duplex.

The festival will run as follows:

  • 29-30 July: Craigellachie with Ziggy Campbell, global brand ambassador
  • 5-6 August: The Macallan with Randall Tan, brand advocate and Keith Nair, brand trainer
  • 12-13 August: Maker’s Mark with Gordon Dundas, global brand ambassador
  • 19-20 August: House of Hazelwood with Jay Gray, brand ambassador for southeast Asia
  • 26 August: Beam Suntory Japanese whiskies with Mike Miyamoto, global brand ambassador
  • 2-3 September: Glenfiddich with Matthew Fergusson-Stewart, brand ambassador for Asia Pacific
  • 9-10 September: Bruichladdich with Richard Gillam, brand ambassador

“As Asia Pacific’s largest assortment of single malt whiskies in travel retail, we wanted to bring an interactive experience that reflects our customers’ passion and fascination with whiskey to the Terminal 2 Wines and Spirits Duplex,” said Brooke Supernaw DFS Group’s senior vice President for spirits, wines and tobacco.

“From the whisky house to the whisky festival, we’re excited to unveil for our customers a space where they can build their knowledge, expand their palette, discover new brands and fall in love again with the classics.”
