Champagne house declares first global Moët day

Moët & Chandon is inviting Champagne enthusiasts to celebrate its fizz on what it has declared to be the first Global Moët Day – 11 June.

Part of its “The Now” campaign, Moët & Chandon will be leading a global celebration of its Champagnes on Saturday, 11 June, with activations, promotions and events taking place around the world from France and Hong Kong to Mexico and Japan.

London will lead the way with a ‘NOW or Neverland’ party, described by Moët as “an immersive-theatre extravaganza” that will take place across a number of rooms on the evening of 11 June and will be open to invited VIPs and paying consumers.

“Moët Day is the culmination of the house’s ‘Now’ global brand platform launched late in 2015 to bring the narrative of the brand to life in a way that is modern, fresh and vibrant,” said Julie Nollet, marketing and communication director at Moët Hennessy UK.

“Moët & Chandon has a history of savoir-faire and savoir-fête – creating #MoëtMoments – that dates back to 1743 and in 2016 we want to create a global moment of celebration, sharing and living life to the fullest.”

The 11 June was chosen in honour of the first F1 Champagne spray by Le Mans winner Dan Gurney on that day in 1967, when he celebrated his win by impulsively spraying the crowd with his trophy Jeroboam of Moët & Chandon.

The UK celebrations also coincide with the Queen’s 90th birthday weekend. Moët has been a Royal Warrant holder since 1893, with the current Warrant granted in 1955.

Tickets to ‘Now or Neverland’ are available to purchase from www.moet.com with prices starting from £60.
