McGuigan launches exclusive range with Waitrose
Australia’s McGuigan Wines has launched a new Family Release range exclusively at Waitrose; a Chardonnay and Shiraz.
The range was developed with Waitrose to celebrate more than a century of production by McGuigan. The McGuigan family has been making wine for four generations, having started life in Australia’s Hunter Valley in 1880 under the leadership of Owen McGuigan.
“The Family Release range was created in conjunction with the Waitrose team to celebrate more than a century of winemaking under the McGuigan name, which is truly a fantastic achievement for our brand,” said Neil McGuigan, chief winemaker for McGuigan Wines. “We’re excited to bring these delicious wines to the UK market through Waitrose”.
The McGuigan Family Release Chardonnay has an abv 13% and is described as having “ripe tropical fruit and peach flavours and very subtle oak notes”. The McGuigan Family Release Shiraz has an abv of 13.5% and is described as a “smooth, full-bodied red with rich plum and blackcurrant flavours and a warm spicy aftertaste”.
The McGuigan Family Reserve range is available in Waitrose at £8.99 per bottle.
