HDH announces first 2016 sale

Chicago-based auction house Hart Davis Hart has announced its first auction of 2016 will be held later this month.

The two-day sale will take place at TRU Restaurant on 19-20 February and will feature over 2,000 lots of fine wines worth an estimated US$4.1 million to $6.2m.

The auction will feature over 700 lots of top Bordeaux dating back to 1874, 218 of the lots are first growths and 28 are from Petrus.

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is represented by 161 lots, including a Jeroboam of 1998 Romanée-Conti and there are another 14 lots of Henri Jayer.

Dujac, Leroy, Roumier, Rousseau and Vogüé will also be much in evidence as will “an excellent array” of California, Rhône and Italian fine wines.

California in particular will be well represented by 404 lots, including 48 from Dominus, 31 from Opus One and 26 of Harlan.

Fans of fortified wines have old Madeira such as 1846 Borges Terrantez and 1860 Balndy’s Bual to choose from.
