French Wine Society rebrands

Global education provider, the French Wine Society has rebranded as the Wine Scholar Guild following the expansion of its education programme to include wines from Italy and Spain.

“Our aim is for the Wine Scholar Guild (WSG) to become the leading, international provider of advanced specialization wine study and certification programs,” said Julien Camus, President and founder. “We’re offering the same commitment to quality wine study with a new name and expanded offerings for new and current members.”

With its headquarters in Washington DC, the Wine Scholar Guild has instructors in 20 countries on five continents and the plan is to become even bigger, now that Italy and Spain has been incorporated according to Lisa M. Airey, education director. The rebrand will effect the company’s website as well as all of its social media sites, including Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin.

“Specialized wine study for the top three wine producing countries in the world provides important professional development opportunities to everyone in the wine trade, she said. “Our program provider network is thrilled with our expanding programming.”

The Italian Wine Scholar programme launches in May with an online programme and classroom sessions due to start in September. The Spanish Wine Scholar programme will commence shortly after.

“We are excited to provide in-depth, advanced wine study on the wines of Italy. It was a labour of love,” added Maurizio Broggi, education director.
