Acker offers ‘collector’s paradise’ in HK sale

Acker, Merrall & Condit’s next Hong Kong auction will see a number of top Burgundy and Bordeaux lots take centre stage.

Taking on a consignment of wine from a wine collector in the States, New York auction house, Acker, Merrall & Condit has highlighted several lots which it believes would make a “collector’s paradise”.

The top five lots include:

  • Four bottles of 1959 Haut Brion (lot 625) estimated between HKD $40,000-56,000 (pictured).
  • Three magnums of 1959 Lafite (lot 626) estimated between HKD $96,000-120,000
  • 12 bottles of 1970 Petrus (lot 628) estimated between HKD $120,000-160,000
  • One bottle of 1947 Château d’Yquem (lot 629) estimated between HKD $16,000-24,000
  • One magnum of 1959 Vogue Musigny Vieilles Vignes (lot 632) estimated between HKD $24,000-32,000

John Kapon, Acker, Merrall & Condit’s CEO, added: “This old family cellar is one of the most interesting we have offered recently. It’s a great slice of delicious history, and we are delighted to share it with our collectors in Asia.”

The auction will take place on 23 January at the Grand Hyatt’s Grissini restaurant.
