Wally’s announces autumn sale

Wally’s first New York sale of the autumn season will feature a fine array of wines and rare single malt Scotch.

Taking place at Restaurant Daniel on East 65th Street on 12 September, the sale will feature 960 lots and is expected to realise over US$3 million.

Right Bank Bordeaux is well represented by 1982 and 1990 Petrus and 1989 Clinet and there is a huge array of top Burgundy dating back to the 1960s including three bottles of Henri Jayer’s 1988 Cros Parantoux, one bottle of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti’s 1966 La Tâche, another bottle of 1964 Romanée-Conti and a bottle of René Engel’s 1964 Grands Echézeaux.

There are also eight magnums of 1990 Dom Pérignon Rosé and top Napa wines from Joseph Phelps, Screaming Eagle and Sine Qua Non.

From the cellar of a “Los Angeles aficionado” comes a collection of single malt Scotch worth over $100,000 including a 1946 The Macallan Select Reserve 52-year-old and a 1961 The Macallan single malt.

Wally’s is also going to hold its “La Fête du Champagne” sale in November featuring great Champagnes and some ex-cellar consignments.
