Global Masters wines to be showcased

No fewer than 29 award-winning wines, as judged in the drinks business Global Masters, will be on show at Bettane and Desseauve’s London Wine Experience this week.

The event, organised by two of France’s most respected critics, will return to London’s Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea for the third year running on 24 and 25 October.

As well as showcasing dozens of wines from countries including France, Greece, Italy, Argentina, Lebanon and Spain, 29 of the best wines entered into the drinks business Global Masters Awards this year will also be available to sample.

The Global Masters is a competition in which wines are judged blind based on grape, eliminating any prejudice about their country of origin.

The wines showcased have all achieved either a gold or master medal in the Global Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon or rosé Masters.

Patrick Schmitt, editor of the drinks business said: “These are wines that have risen to the top of their respective categories. We hope you appreciate their quality, regardless of their source country, although it’s interesting to note the strong performance of Provence for the pinks, and Australia and the US for reds and whites.”

While showcasing the best Global Master wines, The London Wine Experience will also give visitors the chance to take part in a number of masterclasses hosted by winemakers and trade experts on subjects including Château Latour.

The second edition of the Wine Premiere Awards will also take place at the event resulting in an exclusive tasting of wines carefully selected by Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve and judged by an international jury of wine experts.
