Diageo announces new SE Asia role

Diageo has today announced that Apurvi Sheth, currently Managing Director Innovation of Asia Pacific, will be appointed to the newly created role of managing director of southeast Asia emerging markets and joint ventures (JVs).

Apurvi joined Diageo in Singapore in 2007 as Innovation Director of Southeast Asia and India following 17 years of commercial, marketing and innovation experience in leading FMCG companies including Coca-Cola and PepsiCo. In May 2010, she was appointed General Manager Innovation of Asia Pacific and a member of the APAC Executive Leadership team.

Apurvi joins the Southeast Asia Executive team to lead the newly created Emerging Markets and JVs business unit that will combine some of Diageo’s existing Emerging Southeast Asia and Portfolio business units (Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines) and other emerging markets.

Commenting on the appointment, Graeme Harlow, Managing Director Southeast Asia, said: “Apurvi’s wealth of experience in emerging markets and her excellent track-record of achievement within Diageo will be of great value as we continue to drive the development of our Emerging Markets and JVs business. I am confident that Apurvi will make a significant contribution to Southeast Asia and help Diageo achieve its ambitious targets.”

Commenting on her appointment, Apurvi Sheth said: “I am delighted to have been given this opportunity at an exciting time when there is such strong growth potential in emerging markets in SEA. I look forward to the fresh challenge.”
