Hosted by The Grape Foundation at this week’s Bettane+Desseauve Wine Experience, the passport will be the star lot at an auction to raise money for the charity which supports underprivileged children in the UK and France.

The PFV is composed of some of the most prestigious estates from around Europe, comprising: Marchesi Antinori, Château Mouton Rothschild, Joseph Drouhin, Egon Müller Scharzhof, Hugel & Fils, Champagne Pol Roger, Famille Perrin, the Symington Family Estates, Tenuta San Guido, Miguel Torres and Vega Sicilia.

The passport, normally reserved for heads of state or royalty and never offered to the public before, will allow four people to travel to spend a day at each estate and enjoy a “lavish” lunch (the offer will be subject to dates).

Alongside the passport, a boxed collection with a wine from each property is also for sale, released only twice a year, the combined package is billed as the year’s “greatest prize in wine”.

Other lots include a lunch and tasting at Smith Haut-Lafitte with owner Florence Cathiard and a night at the Hotel de Marc owned by Veuve Clicquot with a dinner and tasting with cellar master Dominique Demarville.

Also up for grabs are more traditional lots of fine wines including a Jeroboam of 1990 La Grande Dame, double magnums of 2006 Yquem, 2000 Latour, 2000 Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, a magnum of 2002 Penfolds Grange and 2003 Quinta do Noval among others.

The auction, which is seeking to raise £100,000 for The Grape Foundation, will take place this Friday (25 October) at the Saatchi Gallery from 6pm.
