TV personality to unveil 50 Great Portuguese Wines

Olly Smith will unveil his 50 Great Portuguese Wines at a tasting in London on Thursday 18 April.

Having toured each of Portugal’s wine regions over the course of last year, the writer and TV personality has chosen 50 great value wines, which he believes offer an excellent quality to price ratio.

“Great value is my theme for this year’s 50 Great Portuguese Wines and there’s never been a better time to explore the excitement of Portugal’s outstanding flavours,” he said of his selection, which followed his award as Portuguese Journalist of the year for 2012.

“From the sandy beaches to the wild highlands, the skill of local winemakers devoted to their awesome range of local Portuguese grapes has to be tasted to be believed,” he added.

Concluding, he commented, “Portuguese wines are a treasure trove of undiscovered gems.”

The trade and press will be able to taste his 50 Great Portuguese Wines on 18 April at Paramount in Centre Point on Oxford Street, London WC1A, between 11.30am and 5pm.

A Portuguese lunch will be served and Smith will be on hand at Paramount to give a short presentation to visitors.
