Top 10 wines in the UK press

2009 Kanonkop, Paul Sauer, Stellenbosch

Kanonkop Paul SauerMacQuitty recommends this wine as a keeper, but she does say: “Personally, I would crack open this classy Cape cabernet, aged for more than two years in small French oak barriques, by 2018 so that its beautiful fruit still has a chance to shine.”

  2. Hi David

I am importing my son-in-law’s Savagnin/Chardonnay blend (grown organically-en conversion- fully AB this year). Patrice is a fellow Arbois /Pupillin producer of the famous Tissots, and also produces unoaked Savagnin- by no means a Marmite wine!- although not yet an oaked. I can obtain either for you. As an importer for the family vineyard, I am not taking any cut myself. Domaine Hughes Beguet is listed on half-a-dozen Michelin-starred wine lists in France and an AA 5 rosette restaurant (Red, white and Rose) in the UK, amongst many others.
