Hemp infused vodka available in Canada

Mary Jane’s hemp infused vodka is available to buy in Canada, continuing the trend of alcoholic drinks laced with cannabis.

Earlier this year the drinks business reported that a number of California winemakers are secretly producing wines laced with cannabis.

Now in Canada you can purchase, “an honest all-natural Canadian vodka micro-distilled from choice domestic ingredients.”

Mary Jane’s hemp infused vodka comes in four flavours: orange, apple, peach and papaya.

Each vodka is said to be “hand crafted and multi-distilled in alembic copper using select grains and fastidious filtered BC spring water. ”

They are advertised under the group name of Queen of Spirits and are distributed from Alberta, Canada.

The legal status of cannabis in Canada is under dispute. Superior and appellate courts in Ontario have repeatedly declared Canada’s cannabis laws to be of no force.

A 2012 poll by Forum Research suggested that “66% of Canadians are in favour of the legalization or decriminalization of marijuana, with just 20% supporting leaving the laws as they are now.”

The cultivation of cannabis is currently illegal in Canada, with exceptions only for medical usage.
