In this latest in our profile series on the 2012 award winners, Phipps stood out from the crowd for combining a hugely diverse client list, from luxury Champagne to mainstream brands and generic bodies, with a “quirky but serious” approach to meeting the needs of each.

Praising the firm’s array of highly individual, creative campaigns over the past year and the quality of coverage these received, the judges were particularly impressed by Phipps’ work and results with the Wines of Germany “Trial By Pinot Noir” event

Runner up in the category was Dillon Morrall, which won particular praise for its work in changing perceptions of The Wine Society. The judges felt this was a firm offering clients “a singular approach that had resonance and was innovative and imaginative”.

Also shortlisted this year was Cube Communications, winner of the award for the previous three years.
