MacLean announces name of new bar
Jillian MacLean, founder of the Drake & Morgan (D&M) group, has announced the name of the forthcoming venue in Bishopsgate.
The Drift will be the fifth site in the D&M portfolio and its third in the city. It will follow the usual D&M template of being a “trendy” bar with premium alcohol labels that has a keen eye on its demographic.
When plans for another venue were first announced, MacLean said: “Since the successful launch of The Folly and The Anthologist, both in the City, customers have been giving us some great feedback and we know there is scope to develop cutting edge bars in the Square Mile.”
Speaking at the drinks business’ annual conference at the Commonwealth Club yesterday morning (28 February), MacLean talked about how important it was to engage with consumers and adapt each venue to suit its specific clientele.
