Franco Manca to open three new sites
Much-lauded Neapolitan pizza restaurant Franco Manca is to open three new London sites this year.
The first will be in Westfield shopping centre in Shepherd’s Bush, which will only offer two pizzas – one meat and one vegetarian – and expects to be serving 1,500 covers a day.
A further two venues are planned for Covent Garden and Brick Lane. Sites for both branches have been found, and the contracts are currently being finalized.
Franco Manca currently operates two restaurants: an 80-cover site on Chiswick High Road that opened in December 2009, and the original site in Brixton Market.
The Franco Manca chain is owned by Neapolitan Giuseppe Mascoli, who also owns Blacks members club in Dean Street, Soho.
Mascoli plans to open another Italian restaurant, Rocca, in Dulwich later this year.
