Hillebrand and Waitrose sign new deal
JF Hillebrand and Waitrose have announced a new contract that will see the logistics provider manage all of the multiple grocers’ wine imports.
The new three-year partnership cements a pre-existing relationship between the two companies that began 10 years ago.
Hillebrand’s successful implementation of its supply chain management solution over a number of Waitrose’s trade lanes in the past four years apparently persuaded the supermarket to give Hillebrand control over the entire operation.
Andrew Shaw, buying manager (wines) at Waitrose, said: “The JF Hillebrand solution will result in a responsive and robust supply chain which will reduce our stockholding – a critical factor in enabling our network to absorb the tremendous business growth we have planned for the future.
"By entering this agreement we have established a mutually beneficial partnership with our suppliers and JF Hillebrand.”
David Mawer, managing director of JF Hillebrand, said: “These are really exciting times for our joint businesses. We are extremely proud to be appointed as Waitrose’s sole partner and are very much looking forward to this next stage of growth and development of Waitrose’s global wine beverage supply chain.”
