Georgian vine adoption scheme
The Georgian Wine Society is looking to entice more customers to appreciating its wines by launching an Adopt a Vine initiative, proceeds from which will be donated to charity.
This is the first time that customers, who can choose to adopt one of two varieties, Saperavi (red) and Mtsvane (white), will have had the chance to adopt vines from Georgia.
The price per vine of the scheme is £29.99 per vine, or three vines for 54.99. Those who sign up will receive one bottle of wine from each vine and from the award-winning Kondoll Vineyards.
Founder of The Georgian Wine Society, Chris Bowling, said: “We wanted to offer our customers a more original way of getting involved with Georgian wine. The vines are limited in number so [people need to] contact us soon to reserve one.”
The Georgian Wine Society was launched in 2009 and donates 10% of all its profits to EveryChild’s childcare programme in Georgia.
