Crystal-clear for Ayala

Bollinger-owned Champagne house Ayala has repackaged its blanc de blancs for the latest vintage release from the 2004 harvest.

The new look includes a clear glass bottle to highlight the stylistic differences of the 100% Chardonnay Champagne.

Made exclusively with grapes from the Grands Cru villages of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Cramant and Chouilly, the Champagne is pale gold in colour with, according to the brand owners, flavours of citrus and pineapple.

The dosage for the 2004 vintage is seven grams per litre, and the vintage was characterised by a sunny and dry autumn after a rainy and cool August.

The wine was then aged for five years in the cellars before disgorgement.

The Bollinger family bought Ayala in January 2005.
