Whisky welcome at Hotel du Vin

The Hotel du Vin has announced a new collaboration with The Scotch Malt Whisky Society. The partnership will enable members and non-members alike to sample some of the Society’s rare malt whiskies in three hotels belonging to the Hotel du Vin and its sister Malmaison.

Before this agreement, these single cask, single malt whiskies were available only to the Society’s 26,000 members, who could taste them at the three members-only venues in Edinburgh and London.

However, from the end of January, these limited edition bottlings will also be stocked at three new sites being opened by the hotel group: Hotel du Vin Bimingham, Hotel du Vin Brighton, and Malmaison Aberdeen.

Each venue will feature a special “Whisky Snuggle”, dedicated lounges and bar areas where members and guests can taste the Society’s range.

Robert Cook, chief executive of Hotel du Vin and Malmaison, described the partnership as “a natural business fit”, adding: “We are always looking at ways in which to innovate and bring something very special and unique to our customers.”

Meanwhile Paul Miles, managing director of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society, highlighted the benefits for both existing and potential whisky fans, saying: “We look forward to offering an increasing number of members of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society the opportunity to sample Society malts on their door step with members’ dram prices and special offers on dinner and rooms, while non-members will be able to sample Society whiskies and learn about the benefits of Society membership.”
