Wetherspoons world record

Wetherspoon’s attempt to set the world record for largest synchronised wine tasting earlier this year was a success. The tasting, held during this year’s London Wine Fair, included 17,540 customers at 694 Wetherspoon pubs, according to The Guinness Book of World Records.

Participants each tasted a 50ml sample of Fetzer Coldwater Creek. Brand manager Georgia Chubb said: “To have 17,540 customers enjoy a glass of Fetzer all at the same time is a really fun achievement.”

This tasting significantly beats the previous record, which stood at 5,100 tasters in Spain in 2006.
