The latest viral marketing innovation from Orbital Wines is â€œStormhoekâ€™s 100 Geek Dinners in 100 Daysâ€. The 100 days began on 1 May, with US consumers organising dinners via a website and Stormhoek supplying the wine.
The promotion continues the success Orbital has experienced with online marketing in the past.
Orbitalâ€™s use of web technology to promote consumer participation has acquired it a worldwide following. The next innovation for Orbital Wines is set to be open-source packaging, the result of online suggestions for new label and bottle design.
Orbital also brought the blogosphere to last monthâ€™s LIWSF, allowing visitors at the fair to post their comments or images, which were then displayed online and on screens around the exhibition hall. The fair also saw the announcement of Orbitalâ€™s drinks business Award for Best Consumer Campaign. Â© db June 2006
