New marketing director for Inter-Rhône

French regional marketing body, Inter-Rhône, has named Virginie Charlier as its new marketing and communications director.

US-born Charlier has previously held senior marketing positions at global companies including Rémy Cointreau, McCormick and Coca Cola.

She will now coordinate Inter-Rhône’s team of 12 across the 15 markets they represent, covering everything from events, internal development, wine tourism and international wine fairs.

Charlier said of her appointment: “With a unique terroir, climate and award-winning producers, the Rhône’s appellations proudly offer world-renowned wines, which are highly sought-after amongst wine connoisseurs. I’m looking forward to develop and implement strategies to further build a prosperous future for the Vallée du Rhône.”
