Michelin-starred Da Terra secures one of world’s rarest coffees
The two-Michelin-starred London restaurant will serve an exclusive nano-lot from Brazil’s Daterra Estate, with just 19kg available worldwide.

Two-Michelin-starred restaurant Da Terra has partnered with Difference Coffee to launch what the pair describe as one of the rarest coffees ever offered in a fine dining setting.
Available from 2 July, the collaboration centres on a nano-lot sourced from Brazil’s Daterra Estate and secured through the producer’s Masterpiece Auction, which showcases experimental and highly limited coffees.
According to the partners, the lot was both the highest-scoring coffee in the auction and the smallest, with only 19kg available globally.
Based in the Cerrado region of Minas Gerais, Daterra Estate is known for its focus on innovation and quality. The Masterpiece collection consists of competition-level and experimental coffees produced in extremely small quantities, often using innovative processing techniques.
Difference Coffee, which specialises in sourcing, roasting and presenting ultra-speciality coffees, secured the lot through its long-standing relationship with the Brazilian producer.
Brazilian connection
The collaboration also reflects chef patron Rafael Cagali’s Brazilian heritage. Da Terra, which means “from the earth” in Portuguese, shares a thematic connection with the estate through a focus on provenance and origin.

Cagali joined Difference Coffee founder Amir Gehl during the roasting process, following the coffee’s journey from green lot to finished product.
The resulting coffee offers notes of dark cocoa, dried stone fruit and hints of citrus-like acidity, creating what the partners describe as a mellow and round cup with a long finish.
“At Da Terra, we are always seeking ingredients that tell a story beyond the table setting of our restaurant,” said Cagali. “As a Brazilian, it’s wonderful to be able to offer such a rare lot that is so rich in history to all our guests.”
Gehl added: “This release is special not only because of the rarity of the coffee, but because of the collaboration behind it. To have the palate of a two-Michelin-starred chef involved in shaping how this coffee should taste is something extraordinarily rare. It was a genuine meeting of culinary and coffee craftsmanship.”
Limited release
The coffee will be served exclusively at Da Terra while stocks last and will be available to guests through the restaurant’s coffee and tea list from 2 July.
A limited quantity will also be made available for purchase through Difference Coffee’s online shop.
